About Gemma

With over 20 years of experience working across the NHS and private sector, I provide safe, compassionate and professional therapy for adults navigating trauma, grief, abuse and difficult life experiences.

My approach is grounded in empathy, professionalism and a deep understanding of how past experiences can continue to shape emotional wellbeing, relationships and day-to-day life.

I am dedicated to creating a supportive and confidential space where you can explore your experiences, process difficult emotions and begin to move forward in a way that feels meaningful to you.

A Safe and supportive space to heal

Starting therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you are used to carrying things alone or appearing strong for others. I offer a calm, non-judgemental environment where you can talk openly and at your own pace.

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted or unsure where to begin, therapy can help you make sense of your experiences and reconnect with yourself.

My work is centred on helping you feel heard, understood and supported as you begin your healing journey.

My Professional Experience

Over the past two decades, I have worked with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds across the NHS and private practice. I have extensive experience delivering safe and effective therapeutic support for those affected by trauma, grief, abuse and complex life challenges.

I support adults experiencing:

  • Emotional, physical and sexual abuse
  • Emotional neglect and critical parenting in childhood
  • Life-threatening and traumatic events
  • Complex grief and traumatic bereavement
  • Trauma experienced by veterans and blue light services
  • Relationship difficulties, betrayal and relational harm
  • Challenges with emotional regulation
  • Perfectionism and high personal expectations
  • Difficulties establishing or maintaining relationships
  • Anxiety, overwhelm and emotional exhaustion

My approach is always tailored to your individual needs, ensuring therapy feels supportive, respectful and meaningful.

Supporting High-Achieving and Resilient Individuals

Many of my clients are high-achieving individuals who continue to function, care for others and succeed while carrying the impact of painful past experiences.

From the outside, life may appear under control. Inside, you may feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected or exhausted by the pressure to keep going.

Therapy offers a space to pause, reflect and begin to heal beneath the surface, so you can move forward with a stronger sense of self and emotional steadiness.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should feel collaborative, respectful and empowering. My approach is trauma-informed and tailored to each individual, providing a calm foundation for meaningful and lasting change.

Together, we will work at a pace that feels right for you. The aim is not to rush, push or force painful topics, but to create enough safety to explore what has happened and how it is affecting you now.

I strive to ensure that you feel:

  • Heard and understood
  • Supported to explore your experiences safely
  • Able to make sense of patterns and emotional responses
  • Equipped with tools to support healing and recovery
  • More connected to yourself and your needs
