‘Gemma helped me to address some very complex issues I encountered during my childhood which manifested themselves in debilitating physical and mental health symptoms.

Also, before I met her, I wasnt able to drive without feeling extremely anxious, now I can get into the car and drive long distances without even thinking about it.

I really recommend Gemma as I believe she can handle problems others therapists struggle to resolve.’

My sessions with Gemma helped me to recover from traumatic experiences. She guided me through confronting and reliving the past traumatic experiences and reframing them in a way that opened up my mind to moving on from the past. She equipped me with lifelong techniques that I can call upon to show myself the compassion that Gemma showed me during our sessions. I am grateful to Gemma for her knowledge, professionalism and warmth’.

Your sessions

Your sessions are tailored to your needs and we would typically spend the first two to three sessions finding out what has brought you to therapy and what the maintaining difficulties are, during which a map of the problems will be created together. I will then support you in deciding which treatments (i.e CBT/EMDR etc) will help you in reaching your goals and hopes.

Video call sessions are conducted via Whereby and are safe and secure or via a platform: Bilateral Base (during EMDR treatment).

Payment/Cancellation

Each therapy session is 60 minutes and charged at £90.

Payment can be made by bank transfer. If you are registered with an insurance company, please check that I am registered with them or therapy may not be covered.

48 hours notice is required if you need to cancel an appointment. It is policy to charge for any missed or cancelled appointments less than 48 hours in advance at the full fee.

Going back to basics is sometimes what we need……

The breath… whether you have anxiety and or depression, is a portal in accessing our nervous system. By changing the way we breathe we can bring our more rational brain back online and stop those racing thoughts that effect how we behave.

Focusing on our breath is a great mindfulness tool to pull us away from the past or future that is causing us distress and to instead ground us in the here and now to a place where you feel safe.

Here is a video with a simple technique to practice regulating our breathing and finding a more rhythmic stance.
